About Preslie

Preslie worked with us from mid September to just before Christmas (approx 3 months). When hired, she wanted to be a W2 employee and agreed to the hours. She committed to be with us for at least a year since transitions are hard for my young toddler. I had a previous nanny from out of state train her. When she started on her own, she began showing up a little late. I talked with her about it and it got better. Two weeks after starting, she told me she was quitting because she wasn't expecting the tax deductions and wanted more money. She said I should have told her what her tax deductions would be even though she was the one who chose them on the payroll system. It was too hard for me to find a new nanny quickly so I paid what she wanted. When she was hired and in November, I reviewed the holiday schedule that she was agreed to. The night before Christmas Eve, she texted me after work and asked for the next morning off. I told her I couldn't do that because these clients were scheduled a month out and they were my only source of income. I mentioned that we had talked about the schedule several times. She said she understood. The next morning, 45 min before her shift, she texted that she wasn't coming in because she wanted to spend the time with her friends and family. She left me hanging with no care for my toddler as a single mother. I reminded her of all this by text but she said what she was doing was more important. Please be very careful if you hire her that you always have backup plans since she will cancel without care for your situation.
