About Ponni

I have taught at C_______________ since 2003. I teach Tamil, which is an Indian Language. I tutored Math, pre-algebra and algebra at C_____________ in Sacramento. I was paired with students that were at the bottom of the class and with one on one sessions a few times a week. I got their grades up to at least passing level. I helped them create their own individual plans to suit each one's learning abilities. I created worksheets and quizzed them weekly to monitor their progress. I currently teach Tamil on Sunday mornings. I also currently tutor high school students in AP Biology. I help with homework, test preparation and explain concepts that the student may find difficult to understand within the time alloted for the teacher to teach the material. I have always wanted to give back to students what I have learned from going through the school system and four years of Microbiology at U_______ . I think many students just need a slightly different perspective to understand the material taught in classrooms and that is what a tutor can do. It is wonderful to see the smiles on student's faces when they show you their improved grades. It makes all the effort that it takes me to balance my work and tutoring schedule worth it.
