I would like to introduce you to Patty and give her my highest recommendation as a competent, compassionate caregiver. Patty took care of my 91-year-old mother for over three years. Broadly speaking, Patty oversaw and managed mom’s personal, business, and social calendars and commitments, and maintained her household. This included health and diet-conscience shopping and cooking and maintaining precise eating, nutritional and medication schedules. Patty has a very acute understanding and awareness of health and medical issues, integrative medicine and medications. She was very adept at managing mom’s overall care, including scheduling numerous doctor appointments and consolidating physicians’ input to help mom understand her conditions and care; and, relayed regular, organized and useful updates and reports to her family in Florida. Patty was respectful of maintaining routines that were important to mom yet was quick to react to changes and emergency situations. She was focused and unshaken summoning emergency help and was very competent communicating with initial responders, including paramedics and medical professionals. She was a very strong and knowledgeable advocate for mom when she had been transported to an emergency room, admitted to the hospital or in a doctor’s office. She is inquisitive and persistent and monitored mom’s well-being and engaged effectively with professional medical staff. Mom’s care and comfort were always Patty’s primary and unwavering concern. You might expect any caregiver would be able to handle these responsibilities. However, that has not been our experience . . . at least to the extent or at the level Patty did. What set Patty apart from other caregivers that had been with mom, was her upbeat attitude, experience, kindness and compassion. Aside from mom’s physical ailments at 91, she often felt hopeless and despondent. But when Patty walked in, her spirit and positive attitude immediately brightened mom’s day. Patty is astute, vibrant, engaging and upbeat, always putting a smile on mom’s face. If you are searching for an exceptional, compassionate caregiver, you should meet Patty.
