I previously ran a daycare from my home with a total of 8 children at differing times as the need arose, it allowed me to be able to raise my own child with morals and values I wasn't finding in daycare centers. I cared for these children with an educational fun based setting as children have the capacity to absorb information in a playful setting. I asked 3 things of each child. Respect for self/others/property. Responsibility for doing what's asked of them as is age appropriate. Choosing their words instead of acting out physically. Reward- positive reinforcement to promote better outcomes in future situations. I support parental guidelines for the care of and dietary concerns. I also believe with the right incentive, after figuring out what motivates each child, that they all have the ability to be the best person possible. I am not in favor of punishments, but time out is acceptable with explanation as to why they're in time out and better resolutions in the future.
