We hired Pam for our elderly, bedridden mother to work evening hours. During the interview, Pam said she would need one weekend off a month. We told her that was fine. She ended up taking two weekends off a month because she would ask the morning caregiver to cover for her. She scheduled a six day vacation the week before Christmas and told us afterwards and was unable/unwilling to cancel it. In addition to that, she scheduled herself off Christmas day. We asked that she stick to her schedule and ask for time off through us more than once. She was very loud and disruptive to our mother.
