Experience: 20 yrs
Certified caregiver with over 20 years experience in elder care including assisted living and at home care. I have vast experience with dementia, diabetic care and many other ailments. I am skilled with a hoyer lift, taking blood pressure, preventing pressure sores and have had patients both mobile and bedbound. I am kind, compassionate and love my patients, caregiving has always come naturally to me. I keep all of my patients clean, happy and make sure all of their needs are met. I wash, feed, change them and manage their medications correctly and on time. I make sure they have mental stimulation, feel comfortable, loved and cared for. I am often told by my employers that my smile and vibrance is welcoming and warm and that they feel relieved by my dedication, skill level and expertise. I am extremely reliable, you can feel relaxed and worry free while your loved one is in my care.
Pam was a breath of fresh air. She took care of my mom for two years. Pam's skill level was unmatched to any aide we had. From reliability to cleanlisness, we never worried about my mom for a minute once Pam started working for us. My mom had alzheimers and we had trouble finding a reliable aide. I went on care.com and got a few dozen responses but no one could start right away or give us the days needed. Pam responded that she was available. She started right away, worked with our schedule. Something fantastic happened, she showed us how to care for my mom. She showed us how to properly wash my mom, change her while in bed, how to prevent bed sores, how to make her comfortable and best of all she taught us about hoyer lifts. We were relieved, and our backs were relieved. At the end of life, we received a wondeful gift, Pam. My mom passed away with complete dignity in her own bed. Pam showed us how to give my mom liquids in her final days. How to make her comfortable. In combination with pain medications from a nurse practictioner and Pams care, my mom lived a comfortable last two years, loved in her own home not only by her family, but by her aide. Despite my moms alzheimers, my mom smiled so brightly when Pam walked in. We called her "her best friend". She danced with her, sang with her, made my mom happy. She was so relaxed whenever Pam was there. My mom struggled to talk toward the end yet we knew exactly what she was saying every time Pam walked in because she smiled big and mumbled with joy. My mom didnt recognize most people but she somehow always knew her best friend Pam was arriving. Pam's care allowed me to have some of my life back. On her shifts I was able to get my own needs met and tasks done without a bit of worry. I highly recommend hiring Pam! I'm very grateful that she came into our lives.
