Owena B. works as a caregiver for our mother who suffers from advanced vascular dementia. Owena has done a phenomenal job, and we recommend her wholeheartedly. Owena is reliable and always arrives to work when expected. She is thorough in her attention to detail and is careful to complete the job with excellence. Owena’s communication skills are exceptional, and she is adept at the difficult job of connecting with our mother. Even though our mother’s language skills are minimal, Owena has succeeded in establishing a trusting relationship with her. Owena uses a variety of techniques to connect with our mother with dementia: She uses affirmative physical touch such as gentle cues on her hands during meal time. Owena engages our mother with drawing, reading, walking, and talking. Owena is a hard worker who does not mind difficult tasks. No detail is insignificant to Owena, and she will go above and beyond regular expectations to ensure the happiness and health of our mother. Owena reaches out daily to give us updates on the progress of our mother, and we are so immensely grateful to have her help.
