My husband, his brother and I were responsible for taking care of their great aunt, a woman in her 90’s with advanced mental and physical health conditions, who had taken care of 3 generations of the family. As expected, the task was high and heavy and because of Angela’s skills, her bedside manner, because of her energy, her experience and training . . . because of Angela, we kept a proud woman in her own home until her final breath. If you’re looking for a skilled professional to help with a loved one in all methods of on hand care and time is an issue, I’ll spare you the chore of even reading the rest of this. Hire her without hesitation. If you need details, I’ll elaborate. We interviewed and even tried some other people who to no fault of their own were unable to match the complicated needs their great aunt’s condition posed. She was proactive with medications, dietary options and even with doctors. There was one instance in specific where we needed to take their great aunt to the immediate medical center and she actually instructed the staff, nurses and doctors, on what to do. They were familiar with Angela from a previous client and said themselves that she knew what she was doing and made their job easy. When Angela met my husband’s great aunt, she was using a walker. She ensured Anne exercised everyday and would use different games to keep her mind stimulated. As time and her conditions took their toll, Angela was with her every step of the way. Taking her for walks in the wheel chair and ensuring all personal hygiene and body rotations were done regularly when she was confined to her bed and under hospice care. Most of all, Angela earned the trust and confidence of a hard-headed woman and guided her longer than anybody (doctor’s included) expected. Angela was with her until the moment she passed away and we’ll be forever grateful we met her.
