About Nina

I am originally from, and still reside in Westerville, Ohio. I was raised in a very large and loving Italian family. I've had several years of both professional and personal experience in childcare. I consider top priorities for childcare to be health and safety. I am certified in First Aid, CPR, and have completed Child Abuse and Communicable Disease courses in the state of Ohio. I have 4 years of experience working for a private childcare facility with all ages. I also have over 5 years of experience as a nanny and part-time babysitting. Children are my true passion in life and I can't see myself doing anything that doesn't involve education. I am a naturally patient, positive, person and have learned through the years how to be appropriately authoritative with children. My discipline philosophy is modeled after the philosophy used in a school which mainly states that children respond to positive encouragement and re-direction. I believe children develop appropriately when they are part of a structured routine and have a lot of consistency in their early years. I am constantly fascinated with how quickly children develop, and love being a part of educating them. I am a clean and organized individual--that's how I was raised! I don't mind cleaning up messes and I enjoy teaching children to do the same. My favorite hobby is finding projects (large and small) to do on a hobby websites. These projects feed my creativity and I sincerely love incorporating arts and crafts with children. It is so crucial for their development in the early years. I can provide a variety of references that include coworkers (teachers), a nanny company I once worked for, as well as parents of children from my classroom that have used me outside of a school setting for childcare. I am available for date night/weeknight/weekend occasional babysitting positions at this time.
