Experience: 10 yrs
I possess a true passion for caring for others. I am a very outgoing, caring, & passionate person. I embrace a high regard while helping others. I understand how difficult it can be to find the right person to care for a loved one. I have been there too, myself. This is what I truly love to do. I have experience working with people of all ages, specifically the elderly, children and those with special needs individuals. I spent many years caring for my Grandfather during his battle with Dementia. Additionally, I have been helping with the care of my Aunt who has Down syndrome. Caring for children has always been a large part of my life. Some of the activities I enjoy include: playing games, laughing, going on outings, cooking, and crafts. I've been tutoring and mentoring a special needs teenager this school year. I have learned so much working with him and have formed a great bond with the family. This has been a challenging task, but so very rewarding for all involved.

We were challenged with our troubled and developmentally disabled 17 year old son who was unable to stay organized and keep up with homework and assignments. His limitations often led to daily arguments and fighting, creating a tumultuous environment in our home. At the beginning of the 2015/16 school year we decided to hire a tutor/caregiver to oversee our son during the after school hours. Our goal was to provide a resource to our son to help him stay organized with his homework and assignments, oversee chores, and generally keep him out of trouble. Nicole fit the bill, and exceeded our expectations very early on. She has been an invaluable part of our son's success in school and has helped to significantly reduce the level of drama in our home. Nicole has partnered with my husband and me to develop strategies that help our son achieve his academic goals, and has gone as far as attending teacher's conferences and accessing grades and assignments through the school's online portal. She is trustworthy with a positive attitude, and no task is too big or too small for her. We are typically in communication with Nicole several times per day to keep each other informed and she is comfortable enforcing disciplinary actions if necessary. Nicole has become a member of our family, and she will be missed at the conclusion of the school year. Any family would be lucky to have her work for them.
