Nelson J. is a kind, compassionate, and hard-working caregiver. Please read on for a somewhat lengthy review of my experiences working with Nelson over seven months. I am a surviving spouse of an 83 year old patient with complex needs. My husband was a big man and working with him required a person with a big heart. When I saw the picture of Nelson on the Care.com roster of vetted caregivers, I was immediately drawn to that smile. My interview with him revealed a person with strength, character, joy, and commitment to the work and mission of giving a person in his care the support they needed. We became a team and I appreciated his care for me, as well as my husband. His compassion and willingness to perform the hard tasks constantly amazed me. Nelson was exactly the trustworthy and skilled worker that we needed. If I had a burden he could take off my shoulders, he did so with energy and competence.
