Nayia applied for my job and we had a few back-and-forth messages. She agreed to a trial babysitting job and I gave her my address four days in advance of the job. On the morning of the job, she sent me a message that she couldn't come. I asked why, and she said she doesn't have her own vehicle and I live too far from her to get a ride from someone. I had put "has a reliable car" in my job description. She should have told me immediately that she could not come rather than waiting until the day she was supposed to do the job. Last-minute cancellations are not professional.
