About Natasha

As of December 2011 I will be receiving an Associates degree in psychology from Bergen Community College. I am currently employed at BronxWorks under the Positive Living Department. I also have experience working with children ages 2 to 10 in a classroom setting. I also have experience with working with children with mental disabilities in a classroom setting. I was recently employed as a Program Specialist for the Positive Living Department at BronxWorks. The Positive Living Department serves those who have been diagnosed with AIDS/HIV. This position has allowed me to aide these clients in living the best lives possible although they have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. It was a learning experience because many clients suffer from mental health and have a history of substance abuse. In July I was transferred from The Family Enrichment Program at BronxWorks to the Positive Living Department. This position enabled me to see a different perspective of working with children. Not only did I work with children I also worked with parents. I assisted in observing the structure of the family and the safety of the children and made plans on how the family would be kept together. I have also taught preschool children. This position enabled me to provide these students with a "head start" in mastering basic skills. I was challenged to be creative, nurturing and most of all, patient. In my freshman year at Bergen Community College, a passion for teaching and working with kids, gave me an opportunity to work with at risk elementary school children. This position allowed me to teach these children to identify and handle bullying situations effectively. I coordinated activities with the children that allowed them to express themselves artistically. I will be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent employee who will make a positive contribution to your program.
