Experience: 7 yrs
Seven years of professional and passionate experience working with children ages 4-15 years old; I'm willing to work with any age. I have previous experience as an Inclusion aid responsible for helping children with special needs to integrate into the classroom and as a tutor at a Community Day Charter School in Jamaica Plain ages 4-6yo. During my undergraduate time at a University where I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatre, I also had the opportunity to work for Jumpstart education. Here I helped pre-school children develop the language and literacy skills they need to be ready for school. My main responsibility was to engage children with the intention of creating rich and meaningful learning opportunities. Summer experience includes working at an all-inclusive day camp for children with and without special needs in CT. Here, I was the unit leader for 20 children; my responsibilities included supervising all aspects of the camper 's day while maintaining the position of a positive role model and ensuring the safety of all campers. I was also the Nature Instructor where I created and individualized lesson plans for different ages (6-15yo) and abilities of my campers.

Natalie works as an aide in my kindergarten class. She is reliable, helpful, nurturing, and responsible. The children in my class love and respect Natalie because she has a warm and loving approach. Natalie mostly works with a Kindergarten student with special needs. This student is very challenging, but Natalie shows patience with her everyday. Natalie is consistent and works proactively to ensure that this student has the most successful day possible. This child receives "alternate fitness" and Natalie has a structured, safe, and fun activity for this child to do everyday. Just moments ago, I looked out my window to observe them doing yoga together. I noticed how engaged and calm the student was as a result of working with Natalie. Natalie is a natural with children; she immediately knows when a child needs help- even before they ask. During writing time, I have a few students who struggle with fine motor skills. Natalie jumps in to support them as soon as she sees the panic on their faces! Recently, our class took a field trip to the aquarium. The aquarium was packed; I was nervous about losing a child. Natalie not only helped me keep the group together in a calm and effective way, but completed a head count every chance she could. Every Friday, we have fewer employees to help with breakfast and lunch. Natalie manages the entire class by herself and makes sure they eat a healthy meal. During that period, I am able to prepare for the day without having to intervene or assist with any issues. I highly recommend Natalie as a caretaker. She has been a positive force in my classroom and will bring her positivity wherever she goes. Please be in touch if you have any questions.
