About Nancy

I believe in having respect for my elders, and in giving back in any way possible to a generation who gave so much of themselves for us all. I spent several years helping to care for my mother, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. I later became a daily companion for 2 years to my mother-in-law, who suffered from cancer and dementia. I was present when both passed away. For the past 17 years, I have provided companionship and care to many elderly folks, right in their (or a loved one's) home. Getting to know my new friends is a priority, and engaging in meaningful conversation which stimulates the mind is an essential part of what I do. I am careful to acknowledge a person's capabilities and strengths as well as their weaknesses. As needed I will assist with reading, writing, dressing, walking, mobility devices, medication reminders. I can also provide light housework, prepare meals, run errands, do laundry, and more. I am not able to lift or transfer, only to guide and assist.
