Hi! My name is Nakya Joi, and I first started tutoring in elementary school, helping my peers and my younger siblings with math and English homework. When I got to high school, I realized I had a knack for teaching things to people in a way that makes it easy to understand, so I started teaching Math and Language Arts at the East Oakland Youth Development Center for kids aged 5-12. Throughout all my years, I've found math to be the easiest subject for me to teach, as it was the easiest subject for me in school, but I currently tutor a 6th grader in all school subjects by following along with her teacher's lesson plan, and would have no issue doing the same for your family should you need me to. Please note that I am very strict on Covid guidelines, so please only hire me if you practice social distancing!

Nakya watched my 2 year old son and 11 year old daughter on days I had to work. She helped my 11 year old with her homework, and went over colors, shapes, and numbers with my then 1 year old son. She stayed late when I needed her to, and on days when she stayed past bedtime, she even bathed and put my one year old to sleep. My daughter loves her, and she does not warm up easily. I was sad to see her go, and I would recommend her any time to anybody!
