Hi! My name is Nakya, but you can call me Kya, it's easier to remember! I have a ton of experience working with children, starting with the fact that I'm the eldest of 5 ;). I'm originally from the Bay Area and worked for two years with the East Oakland Youth Development Center teaching math and language arts for kids aged 5-12, and then I worked for a semester at a Jewish Preschool in Washington, DC while I was in college which inspired me to change my major from psychology to child development; I've been a nanny ever since. I'm skilled in potty-training, constructive and positive discipline, baby led weaning, and love to read, sing, and play with littles! My ultimate goal is to start my own daycare that caters specifically to children aged 0 - 2 years. I hope that you'll find me to be a great fit for your family!

We hired Kya to watch our 5-month-old baby girl for the day and she was great. On time (early actually), immediately comfortable with our girl (and our dog), and did a lot of activities with her: singing, reading, playing, going for a walk. It was only for one day, but we would have her back in a heartbeat.
