About Myra

Originally from Ireland, I have lived in the US for 34 years. I am a proud mom of two sons, one I grew myself and the second we adopted (we were a foster family for seven years). I have worked in public elementary schools for five years and retired seven years ago from a private Christian school, where I was the "Read-aloud Lady" for preschool & kindergarten, and the After-school and Summer school program director for children aged 5-10. Since then I have enjoyed spending more quality time with youngsters who need a caring, responsible and mature individual to keep them safe, and engaged in fun activities; including trips to the Discovery Museum, local library, splash parks, and playgrounds. I enjoy puzzles, games, art, music, and am a firm believer that books are the best building blocks for success! My primary focus with children of any age is to encourage, educate, entertain, inspire confidence, and instill good social skills and independence.
