I am a lifelong pet owner. I've grown up with always having at least 3 dogs running around, multiple cats jumping in and out of my lap, changing bedding for rabbits/hamsters/guinea pigs, and even had a ton of livestock during COVID. I wasn't the one to care for the chickens/ducks/turkeys/goats/pig but I still ran around outside playing with them and making sure they were warm enough inside with the heat lamps during the winter. I now have a cat of my own named Luna and long for the day I can own a dog of my own.
