About Monique

With over 10 years of experience in the field, I am passionate about creating a learning community that is inclusive where caring relationships are built. I graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor in Elementary Education and then from Mid America Nazarene University with a Masters in English as a Second Language. I have worked as an aid/tutor, a collaborative teacher, reading interventionist and adult instructor, using various ESL strategies throughout my teaching practices. I currently work for the school district as a 6th grade teacher. I have taught 2nd and 5th grades as well. I am looking to help young students who may be struggling in math with number sense, multiplication facts, long division, fractions, etc. My specialty is building a foundation to support mental math and computation, so math becomes automatic and fun! I can also help in other various subjects, including reading to get on grade level, grammar or writing.
