I have always had animals and taken great care of them. I have only worked or volunteered as a pet-sitter for friends and family. I am currently caring for my son's long-haired ginger tabby, Leo, while he completes part of his officer's training in the Army. Leo spent his 1st year with Scooby, our chow/retriever mix who passed at 20. Scooby was rescued off the streets as a youth and spent his life with Moe and Missy, our cats that lived until they were 19 and 20. I have had dogs my entire life and cats since I was a teenager (and guinea pigs, frogs, tarantulas, rabbits, etc.)and have loved and treated them all like family members. I miss having a dog to walk bot am currently living in an apartment and walking Leo on a leash daily.

We are two physicians working in Albuquerque, and due to our long hours and clinical responsibilities, we were in dire need of more consistent childcare for our infant son. After fortuitously finding Monica on Care.com, we (and more importantly, our son) instantly clicked with her. We hired her right away, and have had the privilege of working with her over the last year. She has a loving, calm, creative approach with him, and it became apparent immediately how much she loved him. Monica brought her experience with physical therapy and used it to help develop his milestones. With her guidance, we have watched him learn to sign, speak, comprehend, crawl and walk! She teaches him independent thought and lets him pick out his daily outfit, his toys, and the books he wants to read. She introduces him to animals, other children, and plays educational and creative games with him all day. We have never seen her turn on the TV with him or even for herself while he is napping! She is extremely intelligent, insightful, and is very astute and observant to his needs. She is often the first to notice if he is getting sick, if he is getting a new tooth, or if he sometimes just needs a little bit of extra love. On top of all of this, Monica is extremely clean and tidy, which is a huge help. She always is willing to go the extra mile to help us out with our other household tasks if we are in a tight spot. Importantly, she is flexible with her hours when needed and always punctual. We are moving out of state, and she was even instrumental in helping us to sell our house! We love her so much, and she has become a part of our family. We even asked her to move with us, but ties to New Mexico keep her here. If it is not already clear, we give Monica the highest recommendation. Our family will miss her incredibly, and no one will ever be able to fill her shoes.
