I AM AN EXPERIENCED TEACHER & TUTOR in K-Adult LANGUAGE ARTS (writing, reading, spelling, grammar, phonics) and K-5 COMMON CORE MATH, as well as a CREDENTIALED MULTIPLE SUBJECT TEACHER (K-6). I have a BA in English & have worked as a teacher, tutor & writing coach for children & adults for 15+ years. TUTORING PROVIDES positive one-on-one support tailored to each student's specific needs to expedite & maximize learning--and, hopefully, fun! MY PASSION is helping students find the JOY AND EXCITEMENT in learning through exploration & practice that makes sense. Writing takes practice, but INSPIRATION is key! When we first started with working with Mitchelle last year, my son was a bit behind in math and his self confidence had taken quite a blow. Homework was met with tears and frustration every night. After just a few tutoring sessions with Mitchelle, we could see an improvement in his work and a major improvement in his attitude. Flash forward to nine months later, he is working at grade level with confidence! Mitchelle is patient, fantastic at assessing what works best for the child in particular, and went a step beyond by reaching out to my son's teachers for curriculum and follow up. She cares about her clients and it shows. We are so lucky to have found her.
