I've been a nanny for infants and toddlers, a babysitter, a daycare teacher, and a children's librarian. I love childcare because it's so much fun to see a whole human personality packed into such a tiny container! I appreciate the realness and simplicity of the interactions you can have with children. With babies, you see how much we communicate nonverbally. With older children, you don't have to have a reason to break out the art supplies or have a dance party, because their life is all about living in the moment. I love reading, photography, crafts, geography quizzes, learning languages, playing piano, cats and dogs, and nature. Please note: I won't participate in pushing gender roles on your children. If you pinkify your daughter or toxic masculinity your son, I'm not the babysitter for you. Your children's existence creates housework the same way yours does, but housework and childcare are different skillsets. Please reach out if you're seeking the latter!
