About Miranda

Six years ago I began caring for a longtime friend of the family who had Alzheimer's. I started as his caregiver, then as the disease progressed to the point that he needed 24-hr care, I became his primary caregiver. In that capacity I managed a team of six caregivers and oversaw most aspects of his care including: scheduling, appointments, prescriptions, wound care, grocery shopping, building maintenance, and coordinating with his power of attorney and medical providers. He benefited from the skills I developed as social worker as I have the ability to care for the whole family with compassion and understanding. After his death, I assisted a woman in her 90's who needed help with most activities of daily living, including bathing, incontinence care, and assistance with mobility. In addition to having many practical skills, I am also adept at soothing the emotional distress that can come from pain, discomfort, and loss of capacities.
