About Milena

I like working with kids because they teach us all so much--the way they approach the world demonstrates what core values we have infused into our society. They posses wisdom about kindness, empathy, and self-perception. I also have incredibly valuable conversations with them. I'm looking for a job that provides a safe environment with clearly defined expectations. I like to be provided with thorough details and clarity. I started working with kids when I was offered a babysitting job for a neighbor at 15 years old. Eventually, I began working in education, specifically math tutoring, as I finished high school. Since then, I have worked at four summer camps and been the head counselor at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. In my spare time, I like to play music--specifically the guitar and various types of drums--read, and cook. My skills include comforting strong emotions, multitasking, and teaching.
