About Mike

(BONUS: I teach Swimming, too - ask me about my innovative Learn to Swim program!) My name is Mike, and I have a Master's in Education with very broad extensive experience as an Educator (Teaching/Tutoring from kids to adults and from K-12 to college, Standardized Test Writing and Grading, and Technical Training for all healthcare roles). I'm easy-going and patient. I try my best to make learning easy and understandable for kids, and to make it lasting - I always say it this way: Learning that CLICKS - Learning that STICKS! I have a strong motivation to ensure kids obtain a good academic foundation, especially in Reading and Writing, and also Math. From grading standardized tests at various grade levels and seeing how many students struggle, I know how important it is for kids to get a good foundation as soon as possible. Getting a good foundation is really important. All in all, I like to make the activity of learning something to look forward to for kids!
