About Mikayla

Mikayla was our Caregiver over the Summer. My Mom is paralyzed on her right-side and my Father is undergoing cancer treatments. The house would come alive when she was here. She was eager to learn how to cook from my Mom and prepare our favorite dishes and desserts! My Mom used to love to bake and cook, and seeing her direct Mikayla around the kitchen (and how Mikayla would care for her and help her organize and clean around the house), truly brought my Mom out of the shell she had spent years in, since her debilitating stroke and broken hip. Mikayla was prompt and reliable, and would inform us immediately if she was ever running a few minutes late. She would wake my Mom up, help her with toileting, bathing, dressing, and other hygiene and beautifying tasks. My Mom cried on Mikayla's last day, when she had to say goodbye. That should tell you all you need to know. We will miss Mikayla, but we are very proud of her and see a bright future for her (and all those she cares for).
