About Michelle

Hi! I'm currently a PhD student at the University of Vermont. I have 14 years of experience with children ranging from infancy to teenage in a variety of settings. Throughout high school, I babysat afterschool 5 days a week for two children ages 2 and 5. During undergraduate, I substituted several times a week (averaging 10-20hrs) in classrooms with ages ranging from 6 mo-13 yrs. My last semester, I served as a long-term sub working full-time (30hrs/week) for the Montessori Toddler classroom (ages 1-3). During my time substituting, I babysat for several families I met through the school. Before starting graduate school, I was a full time nanny for 3 boys ages 3 months, 3, and 6 in Seattle. In Burlington I babysit for several of my professor's and colleague's. I incorporate Montessori philosophy, yoga, and mindfulness into my caregiving. As a PhD student in an environmental field, I love the outdoors and educating children about the wonders of nature!
