About Mia

Hi! I'm Mia. I began working with children weeks after I graduated high school as a ceramics instructor at a day camp. After my last summer at camp I began teaching full-time at a Montessori preschool. During my time there I taught children ages 2. 5 to 6 and earned my early childhood Montessori certification. My approach working with children is what's formally called an "authoritative" style: I lead with love and playfulness, allowing children to express themselves and their emotions, while maintaining the structure that children need to thrive. Because of my Montessori background, I'm also well-equipped to work with your child in reading, math, and practical life skills. That being said, I also love to play with children! I believe in limited screens and lots of time outside, cooking, crafting, building, and just letting kids be kids.
