About Miata

Miata (Mimi) has been a tremendous and true caregiver for my parents from the moment she joined our family in August 2023. A skilled CNA, Mimi has helped with far more than CNA duties and exceeded all expectations. Punctual, honest, friendly, and capable, she has always shown up, done what's needed, and been assertive at the right times about what needs doing (with my parents and with their healthcare providers), and she's done it tirelessly yet with friendship and love. Initially hired to help my father, struggling with dehydration, malnutrition, no self-care routines, and mental decline (during a prolonged period where my mother was hospitalized), Mimi leapt in, got him treatment for an undiagnosed infection; nourished, dressed, and bathed him; managed his many medications; and kept him company. When my mother returned from hospital, Mimi helped immensely with her recovery while still caring for my father -- bringing them food, running errands, helping with their hygiene and medications, shepherding them to appointments, and helping them hold onto their independence as long as possible. On several occasions, she helped them get urgent hospital care, memorably saving each of their lives. All the while, she has been excellent at communicating with me (I live out of state) and keeping me in the loop. My parents moved to assisted living and healthcare rooms in January 2024, and have fewer outside needs now. We want Mimi to help your family the way she's helped ours -- but we do hope that she'll still have a little time to continue in a reduced role with our family, both because she's such a tremendous caregiver and because she's really become a family member.
