I am a working mom to two boys, ages 13 and 11, interested in tutoring & babysitting. I obtained my Master of Education from UMass Boston in 2013 and my BA in English (Communications minor) from Fordham University in 2001. I have worked as a swim instructor and volunteer tutor to students ranging from ages 3-15. I currently work full time as a Sales Learning and Development Manager, and am interested part-time tutoring & babysitting opportunities. I passed the following Massachusetts teacher certification exams: Communication & Literacy Skills, Foundations of Reading, and General Curriculum (Multi-subject & Math). I have earned my Preliminary Certification from the Massachusetts Department of Education. I am able to tutor across all subject areas including English, Reading (Fundamentals and Comprehension), Writing, Phonics, Math, Study Skills and Organization. Melissa worked over the summer with my 7 year old son. He was behind with his reading level and math skills, with Melissa's help he has now begun 2nd grade and is on par with the rest of the class and doing great!
