About Melissa

I have been told several times that I am an old soul. I prefer 50s and older music. I enjoy the company of seniors more than anyone. I have to say I'm not surprised. I started working with Seniors as a little girl going with my paternal grandmother (home health aid) to her client's homes. When I was 14 I volunteered at a nursing home where I was able to sit down and talk to many of the residents, give them a snack and play games. For four years, in my early twenties, I cared for my maternal grandmother who was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia. My grandmother and I never really saw eye to eye but when it came to someone caring for her I was the first one there. It was heartbreaking that she got sick but her and I became so close. I will never forget those years. Since then I worked for three years in an adult day center as a geriatric aid and currently I care for my paternal grandmother part time. I have three kids and am married. I have medical experience and am willing to learn
