About Melissa

I'd describe my personality as witty, compassionate, and easygoing. I like caring for seniors because I get to gain insight into diverse perspectives on life. I started caring for seniors when I became a CNA at a hospital about a year and a half ago. In my spare time, I like to go hiking, cook, and be with my family. Something about me is that I recently graduated from UCSD with a degree in public health and aspire to one day become a Physician Assistant. My skills include safe patient movement, safety in eating/swallowing, keeping patients clean. I have experience with Alzheimer's patients, dementia patients, and general patients who require extensive help with all ADLs. I frequently work with PTs so I understand the importance of keeping active. My techniques for re-orienting patients include playing their favorite music, offering them hygiene support, or asking them about their favorite foods.
