About Melissa

Hello :) my name is Melissa, and I would love to assist with your child care needs. I was an anxious child, so I have an eye for understanding children's feelings and helping them express what is troubling them. I believe empathy is the key to a nurturing relationship with children. I worked at the Boys and Girls Club in college, where I mentored kids ages 5-15. I am completely bilingual - I read/write/speak Spanish and could exclusively speak in Spanish to your children, if you prefer. I also tutor - and would be willing to offer those services while caring for your children as well. I am a graduate of the University of Florida, where I majored in Statistics, and am currently a Senior Actuarial Analyst in NYC. When I am not working my day job, I aim to equip our youth to handle life's obstacles by providing child care and tutoring services as needed. I enjoy seeing children become empowered, feel safe, and have fun. Please let me know if I can be of service.
