About Melissa

I am a graduate with a masters degree in developmental psychology and a bachelors in Child Development and Family Relations and a minor in Psychology. I am currently a Child Life Specialist at a local hospital specializing in pediatrics. I have 10 + years experience with children. 7 of them working with medically fragile children. During grad school I worked as a nanny for 2 families. I have a large amount of experience with young children (3 and under) including infant twins with overnight care. When working with children, I like to create activities and opportunities for children to learn and grow while providing developmentally appropriate experiences. I believe in a hands-on approach while including reading, crafts, and many outdoor activities. I also believe in the power of growth through socialization and allowing children to create new experiences while engaging in social experiences such as trips to the park, play-dates and children's museums.
