I am well versed in caring for animals. First and foremost, I have grown up with animals. A childhood involving animals is vital to create organic compassion. In my adult life I have pet-sat for large and small animals, the largest being a 120-pound German Shepherd. This dog had some social abnormalities but after working with its trainer I became well versed in how to walk him and calm him. I have worked in several shelters, as a volunteer and I have also cared for pets that were recovering from surgery. Two indoor cats and 1 outdoor cat. I am very familiar with the social qualities of felines. I understand shy pets a lot. One of my current cats was so shy when I got him at 9 months. I worked with him and within a year he felt comfortable enough to purr. I never gave up on him.
