Melissa watched my 2 year old while I worked from home one day. She showed up on time but there were a couple things that concerned me. The biggest thing was that I asked her to wake my son from nap at a certain time but she didn't and was asleep on the couch. I called her name a few time and cleaned the kitchen but she still didn't wake. I woke my son up and brought him in the office with me. 20 minutes later, she woke up and asked if she should go wake him. I told her he was up and she could leave. This would have been a safety concern if I wasn't home. My kid is old enough to get up and go out the door on his own and, if he was a baby, she wouldn't have been awake enough to hear cries. I told her break time is her own time to do whatever with but I fully expected her to be responsible for my son at the agreed upon time which would mean resting instead or sleeping or setting an alarm.
