My name is Melissa. I have over 10 years of experience caring for the elderly and developmentally disabled. I was in a live-in position with an elderly woman and her developmentally disabled daughter in Southampton, for 10 years. In addition to having nannied for all of great grandchildren. Some of my duties included personal grooming, light cooking and feeding, running errands, companionship and play, housework, also administering medication and transportation to appointments, communicating with doctors (reiteration, reminding and keeping track of future appointments), and communication with family members. The two women have since passed, yet I remain exceptionally close to the family even today. I've had several other experiences care-taking on a more short term basis as well.

Being a mother of 3, who also had my elderly grandmother living with our family, I knew I needed help when trying to juggle all the responsibilities became overwhelming. We hired Melissa to mainly focus on the 3 children, but with ease she was soon able to become my third and forth hand. Melissa helped wherever it was needed. She was kind, attentive, neat and offered positive reinforcement with the children when needed. She was an asset to our family and was just as amazing in caring for my Grandmother as she was with my children. Melissa spent many years with our family and we missed her when we moved.
