About Melissa

I'd describe my personality as kind, empathetic, creative. I like working with kids because it's my passion. It's exciting to see their growth and achievements! I'm looking for a job in which everyone experiences a win-win situation. The kids are happy, safe, and have fun, the parents trust that I have the kids best interest at heart, and I am trustworthy, and Lastly, I feel valued at doing what I'm best at. I started working with kids when I was 22 years old. I spent 8 years as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher, 8 years as a second grade teacher, 2 years as a Diverse Learners teacher, and currently I am a 4th grade teacher. In my spare time, I like to exercise, spend time with my family and my Pomeranian named B. B. One thing you should know about me is I am reliable, consistent, and responsible. My skills include creating a safe space/connection with the child, understanding that all kids needs are different, and flexibility when things don't work out as planned.
