About Melisa

Hi! My name is Melisa, and I'm a junior studying nursing. I have about 5 years of experience working with children through swim instruction, summer camp, and lifeguarding. I have been a teaching children of different ages and helping them feel safe and comfortable in the water. I have also worked for the past three summers at a summer camp for children with cancer and their siblings, where I started as a counselor and worked my way up to Unit Head. In this role, I supervise children and counselors, plan activities, and make sure everyone is safe while still having fun. I started working with kids at 15 and have loved it ever since. I enjoy getting to know each child's personality and being someone they feel comfortable with and can trust. I'm looking for a family I can build a good relationship with while balancing my nursing school schedule. I'm responsible, dependable, patient, energetic. I am also CPR and lifeguard certified.
