About Melanie

I am studying Elementary Education at UW- La Crosse in hopes of becoming an elementary teacher. I love working with children! I volunteered as a junior counselor and more recently a troop leader at Camp Pottawatomie Hills with 1st and 2nd grade girl scouts for the past 3 summers. I plan on helping out during future summers! Also, I worked at Kettle Moraine Summer Academy the summer of 2018 and 2019 as a teacher's aid with students going into kindergarten. During my senior year of high school, I interned with a combined 4th and 5th grade classroom. Next, I currently work at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater La Crosse with kindergarten to 2nd grade age students. Here, I lead after school activities and work with underprivileged students. Most recently, second semester I began volunteering at my college's childcare center primarily with 3-year-olds, but this time was cut short because classes were moved virtually. I am excited to work with new children and your family!
