About Melanie

I began tutoring students during the summer of my sophomore year in high school. I began tutoring students on the elementary school level in math and reading. Upon graduating high school, I attended Francis Marion University. While there I received a bachelors' of Science in Middle school Education with concentrations in English and History. During college, I worked at the local as a kindergarten after-school counselor and a one on one tutor for children with severe ADHD. As a special needs teacher assistant, my job consisted of working with students with learning disabilities. I have currently been working in a school district for the past 7 years as a middle school teacher. I am currently in school to receive my English as a second language certification. Teaching and tutoring is my passion and I am here to help.

Melanie has been nothing short of phenomenal. We started tutoring twice a week in January and the results began to show week two. My son looks forward to his sessions and his grades have improved tremendously in reading and math . I love that she uses different methods when teaching including going outside, playing with a ball, and she gives rewards that really keep him excited.
