About Melanie

Melanie is a UCSB graduate with over 20 years of nanny/babysitting experience with children ages newborn-10 years old. She has taught dance to preschool-12th grade in studios, schools, and after school programs since 2002. She was a teacher's aide in a kindergarten class, and has experience helping with after school daycare and recess duty. She also spent a year assisting with a 4th grader's homeschool curriculum. Melanie recently began taking classes with the Early Childhood Education program at Santa Barbara City College. She did this to enhance her skills in working with children, with better knowledge to support the child in their growth and development. Melanie will begin grad school in the fall, and these courses also support her goals to become a child therapist. Melanie strives to keep children active and engaged, and takes a kind and gentle approach. She also takes safety seriously, and always mindful to keep a watchful eye.
