About Melanie

My experience watching children started at about the age of 16 when I became a mother's helper working with a 2-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy in the town of Eastchester where I grew up. As I entered my twenties, I pursued my degree in early childhood, while I still would babysit two little girls after school, ages 5 & 9 at the time. I did this for a couple of years. My professional experience ranged for 10 years working in Ardsley Middle School grades5-8. I worked there from 2000-2010 in various positions; in special education programs with children with multiple disabilities, a substitute teacher, and the special education collaborative program helping students with learning disabilities achieve in the classroom. As I have recently became a stay at home mom. My daughter is the most experience I have for as a parent being home I have learned to use the tools I have learned in grad school as an educator.
