About Melanie

I'm looking for a job that is flexible but hard work that allows me to develop and support kids and families in any ways that I can. I started working with kids when I was a sophomore in highschool. I started out as a babysitter and then my name got around in my neighborhood and I became a part time nanny for working parents. I worked as a summer camp counselor for individuals with autism and currently I am a volunteer coach at an elementary school for the Girls on the Run program. One thing you should know about me is I have experience in caregiving as my role as a counselor over the summer involved working with both low support and high support needs individuals with autism and other disabilities. In my past experiences in caregiving I have created activities such as science experiments like volcanoes, outdoor games with paint and baking fun. I always found that this was enjoyable for many of the children in my care and was better than sitting in front of a TV.
