It is with deep gratitude and genuine admiration that I write this recommendation for McKinnah, who served as a nanny for my daughter, E., from 20 to 27 months old—a truly formative period in her early life. During those pivotal months, McKinnah became more than just a caretaker. She was a steady, loving presence in our lives and helped shape E.’s growth, confidence, and joy in ways that I will always be thankful for. McKinnah brought warmth, patience, creativity, and structure into E.’s day-to-day. Her consistent care, nurturing energy, and attentiveness were matched by her ability to connect with E. in such a natural and intentional way. She created a safe space for my daughter to learn, explore, and feel deeply loved. The bond she formed with E. was genuine, and that love extended to our family as a whole. The only reason we made the incredibly difficult decision to transition E. to preschool was because we were unexpectedly offered a last-minute full-time placement through my county—something we weren’t expecting until the following year. Financially, this was a significant blessing, and as a single working mother living paycheck to paycheck, it lifted a weight I could not ignore. But emotionally, letting go of McKinnah’s presence in our daily lives was truly heartbreaking. She helped potty train, speech therapy, and overall turned my daughter into a very polite and respectful little girl who says thank you and please at just 2 years old!!! This decision had nothing to do with McKinnah’s performance—in fact, if circumstances were different, we would have never let her go. I would work with her again in a heartbeat and sincerely hope to in the future. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for someone who leads with heart, kindness, dependability, and a genuine passion for child care.
