About Mckenzie

Hello! My name is McKenzie! I'm incredibly proud to be a career educator. I have a WA State Teaching Cert, endorsed in English Language Learners, Elementary Education, and Visual Arts. I'm currently a college admission counselor for high school students (on maternity leave theough September). I've taught kindergarden, 2nd grade, and K-5 reading recovery in Whatcom County and King County. I've taught art and college admissions at middle and high school levels in Central Mexico. Aside from formal classroom teaching, I've also been privileged to work as a full-time nanny for three families after graduating undergrad. Despite loving being a classroom teacher, these years of full-time nanning are some of the most special of my life. The opportunity to support children 1:1 and be welcomed into their family and life in such a deep way is something that no other job compares to. It's an incredible honor.
