About Maysa

Hi! I'd describe my personality as easy-going, understanding, and loving. I work with kids because I believe every child deserves a safe person in their corner to support them. I started working with kids when I graduated college in 2021 and have experience in special education, applied behavioral analysis, and therapeutic teaching. I am comfortable with intensive behaviors/high-needs kiddos. Currently, I am employed at a public school district, as a Behavioral Support Specialist. I teach social-emotional skills to students and small groups as well as assist in crises. In my spare time, I am in graduate school to become a LPC. I enjoy crafts, music, & the outdoors. I can speak friendly in American Sign Language and am familiar with AAC devices and PECS. I am a certified substitute teacher, with 3+ years of training in safe crisis management, CPR/first-aid, wheelchair transfers, & seizure response. My skills include behavior support, academic help, & trauma-informed care.
