About Mayavellie

Hello, my name is Maya. I moved from Louisiana to go to college in Indiana where I majored in Psychology and emphasized in Developmental Psychology. I have experience with special needs youth, am comfortable around pets, and am willing to help out around the house. My hours are very limited due to my full time position, but I'm happy to help when needed! I also have 6 years of tutoring in Spanish (first language), Math, Science, and ACT prep. I'd describe my personality as goofy, caring, and outgoing! I have been babysitting for 10 years with a wide range of ages: 5 months to currently working with 11-17-year-old kids. I have worked with around 12 families since starting. I am currently employed at Youth Villages where I started as a Behavioral Youth Counselor and transitioned into the role of mentor liaison in our mentoring program. My skills include creative activities, problem solving, and providing coping skills. I am CPR (infant as well) certified alongside basic first aid.
