About Maya

Maya was like family to my children. In a short time they grew to love her and were excited for her to come and spend time with them. We had a really positive experience with her while she was watching our children. She was kind, engaging, and our kids truly enjoyed spending time with her. Even now, they still ask about her, which speaks to the connection she built with them. Unfortunately, our experience ended in a very concerning way. She stopped responding to messages literally the day before having a completely normal conversation the night before that confirmed that she would be coming the next morning. When she did not show up as expected, I was left feeling genuinely concerned for her safety and wellbeing. After not hearing from her, we became worried enough about her safety that we requested a wellness check. Through that process we learned that she decided to quit but had not communicated that to us. We completely understand that circumstances change and people move on from jobs, but clear communication is extremely important when families are relying on someone for childcare. A simple message letting us know she would no longer be available would have prevented a lot of worry and confusion. Our children genuinely cared about her, which made the sudden disappearance especially difficult for them. We wish her well, but we hope that in the future she communicates more directly with families she works with.
